Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU)
Liquid-to-liquid · N+1 pumps
The CDU is the boundary between the building and the servers. On one side, facility water of uncertain quality and temperature. On the other, a clean, controlled loop with tight tolerances on temperature, flow, pressure and particulate. A brazed plate exchanger separates them; redundant pumps and a filtration circuit keep the secondary side within spec continuously.
-
Loop isolation
Brazed plate exchanger keeps facility water out of the IT loop entirely.
-
N+1 redundant pumps
Either pump carries full duty; failover is automatic and hot-swappable.
-
±0.5 °C supply control
Modulating valve and variable pump speed hold secondary supply flat.
-
Leak detection & filtration
Rope sensors, pressure monitoring and a side-stream filter with alarm on differential.
